1925

Mr. James T. Burns founded our school and first known as Legarda High School.

1926

Moved to Syquia building at the foot of Pritil bridge along Juan Luna street and renamed as Manila West High School.

1928

First batch of students graduated

1930

Renamed to Florentino Torres High School in honor of Justice Florentino Torres, the first Filipino to be appointed associate justice of the Supreme Court.

1935

Mr. Marcelino Bautista was declared to be the first Filipino principal of our school and of a public high school.

1937

Our school occupied the constabulary barracks in Gagalangin where it is located today.

1942

At the dawn of Japanese invasion and World War II, our school was force closed and was converted into garrison.

1945

Our school reopened under Mr. Pablo Reyes

1950

Mr. Cesario Bandong bound for developments on schools facilities which includes the construction of the bleacher sheds

1978

Ms. Severa SaldaƱa was the first lady principal and was remembered through her "open shelf" system in school library.
